It has come to our attention that a company representing itself as 'The Lighthouse for the Blind' is using telemarketers to sell items such as light bulbs and trash bags, even telling prospective customers that the money from the sale of these products goes to help the blind and visually impaired. The Lighthouse for the Blind in New Orleans, Inc. does not, nor ever has, telemarketed its manufactured items. The Lighthouse for the Blind has never made light bulbs or trash bags. The Lighthouse for the Blind in New Orleans has a retail store and all retail items are sold through that store only. Any items that are manufactured by the Lighthouse for the Blind are sold primarily to the government and military base stores. No solicitation calls are ever made by any employee of the Lighthouse for the Blind in New Orleans, Inc.
